Autorenporträt
Barbara Lunow was born and raised in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the second of six children. Her love of books and words began with her mother reading children's classics at bedtime. Lunow served as a nurse (and along with her husband) as a linguist-translator to the primitive Sougb tribe of Papua, Indonesia for over 35 years. Barbara faithfully wrote monthly reports to their family and supporters at home. She was field editor for many years and wrote articles about their work. Lunow's books are Are We There Yet? (details the first years of the Lunow family's journey) and Star Drops and Spider Hairs, a chapbook of free verse poetry about the Sougb people, their language and culture. Barbara and her husband live in Fort Mill, South Carolina.
