This easy reader, chapter book begins when the author finds a Quaker parrot sitting on top of her SUV. She could only imagine what the young bird had encountered during this adventure. This fictionalized, but true, story addesses decision making, problem solving, trust and love for both the author and the parrot. There are many dangers out in the wild. Hali, who finds him, must decide how to help without scaring him off. The fact that Georgie was so tired, hungry and thirsty allowed him to accept help.
