However, little is known about the pathways through which participation in the cross-border tomatoes trade between Ghana and Burkina-Faso leads to higher risk behavior in women traders. This study explored the perspectives of women traders on circumstances that may facilitate HIV acquisition and transmission in high HIV prevalence areas in Navrongo, in the Kessena-Nankana East and in Paga, in the Kassena - Nankana West districts which are the hub of informal tomatoes trade between Ghana and Burkina-Faso.
