She grew up in Colorado, and graduated from University of Northern Colorado. Taught lower elementary, and also, taught in a true one-room school house (K-8). She privately tutored, helping the challenged reader, overcome reading difficulties. She was the Title 1 Director for the Federal Title 1 Programs, in the last school she worked.
