Whose History is a study of the impact of American History Standards on Minority students in Minnesota, and the rest of the nation. Using the lens of Critical Race Theory combined with Critical Pedagogy, the author reviews Minnesota's required History Standards and questions whether or not they serve to marginalize students from minority backgrounds by utilizing both overt or invisible misrepresentation, the absence of historical record, and, negative representation based on the ideologies of Eurocentrism and Nationalism. Through the study of these standards, as well as the interviews and focus groups, the author concludes that racism continues to plague the retelling of American History even into the Twenty-first Century.
