Why? Because I'm Black! My voice is my weapon. Can't you hear me speaking up and speaking out! My pen is gives me power and that is an even greater weapon. God gave me an opportunity to look at the condition of this world and ask myself a serious question about where I fit into this society. I am proud that God has intervened on me and my people's behalf and taken the lid off all that we have endured since my Black African American ancestors and descendants were enslaved. As I write every word in this book, I write with purpose and compassion for those who are grieving the loss of a loved one who died during the COVID19 pandemic. I decided that writing about my African Black people was something I wanted to do. In addition, I strongly believe that regardless of who will read this book filled with short stories and poetry I've written during the COVID19 pandemic needed to be published in a book. While I love to write fiction stories about any and every topic, theme, or genre, writing about Black people's painful stories, suicide, financial hardships, spiritual journeys, struggle to succeed in Corporate America, or just simply living, driving, existing, and surviving while Black is my contribution to my Black people. These are the stories I want to write during these unprecedented times we are living in today. Perhaps I will write in solitude gaining a worldwide audience of readers who are open to a new perspective. To all my Black people in the struggle, we are not only coming out on the other side of this journey, but we are coming out alright. Why? Because we are Black!
