"Why Can't I?" is a typical child's reaction to a request that a child will make, and the parent says "no". This is a story about a young chimp named Jocko, who thinks he can do many things that the older chimps can do. As a young mother we learned very quickly the tricks our children try to get away with. Both my husband and I would look at each other and remember that we tried those same ideas or tricks on our parents and most of the time lost the battle.Even as a teacher my students would try to pull their---Why Can't I's on me. Of course they lost, but they still tried.
