Autorenporträt
Edward A. Safarik has been immersed in the world of commercial fishing in coastal British Columbia and Alaska all of his life. He has travelled most of the world, to both the light and dark places, and has grappled with pain and experienced great joy. He has a BA in Economics and a law degree from UBC (but don't hold that against him!). He has been involved in marine ecosystem and biosphere science, and he has an extensive background in genetics as well as conflict resolution. His six grandkids inspired this book, which is for all the "Charlies" in the world. Edward, his wife, Diana, and their Labrador retriever, Niña, split their time between Cortes Island, Whistler, and Vancouver.
