The author is currently incarcerated in the State of Georgia and has been waiting for eighteen years for a plea reversal hearing after being sentenced to life in prison only four days after a very tragic gun accident. After one college semester, the author found himself face to face in what turned out to be a major life changing event.Eighteen years in prison has given the author great insight into life as a young black man, and he now feels dedicated to inspiring insightful experiences for others on how to create real love, lasting families and positive communication between black men and black women around the world. The author is using his time to create significant contributions to the lives of very young men incarcerated with adult men in the American prison system. He is currently serving as an instructor in the prison institution for Ashley University. He has completed the Paralegal Certification Degree from the U.S. Career Institute, with honors, and graduated with his BA from Ashley University in Communication with a minor in Sociology and Business Administration. An unprecedented act of injustice ever heard about by everyone that hears his story, compels the author to begin sharing his personal journey to prevent others from taking the same road to destruction that his life has taken, and teaching skills on how to address law enforcement positively. After a fatal gun accident, the author was charged, indicted and sentenced to life in prison within 72 hours. There are no mistakes in the universe, and the author is taking charge of discovering his purpose in life to help others experience joy and happiness! "He was injected with psychotropic medication and directed to sign a confession to murder while he was highly sedated and suicidal from the trauma". The coroner stated that it was a gun accident, the DA stated "he did not think so" and the author has been waiting eighteen years for the judge to call him back to court to reverse his plea. It took six years after the sentencing for the court appointed attorney to contact the author to begin the proceedings for the plea reversal. The presiding judge wrote a letter assuring that the author would return to his courtroom for the plea reversal hearing. After all of these years, the author is still waiting. Dr. Ricardsun's deepest desire for his book is to spark a conversation across the nation that could serve as a healing force in the lives and relationships of African American men and women, fostering the hope and creation of successful, positive black family living, solidarity and lifelong joy.
