Karla Stover was born and raised in Tacoma, Washington, and graduated from the University of Washington with honors in history. She has been writing for more than twenty-five years. In 2008, she won the Chistell Prize for a short story titled One Day at Appomattox. For more than fifteen years, she hosted a radio program discussing Tacoma and local history on KLAY AM 1180. She is the author of several books and is currently working on a novel based on the lives of the Everleigh sisters.
