Chérie B. Stihler is an elementary school teacher and the author of other picture books set in Alaska, like The Giant Cabbage: An Alaska Folktale  and Polar Polka: Counting Polar Bears in Alaska. She lives in Fairbanks, AK. Michael Bania is the author and illustrator of Kumak’s Fish and Kumak’s House. She lived for almost twenty years above the Arctic Circle.
