George R. R. Martin is a successful writer of popular literature. He started his career as a writer in 1971, when he combined his jobs as a screenwriter and a producer. In the 1990s he dedicated himself exclusively to literature. He is the author of the highly successful and multi awarded fantasy epic The Song of Ice and Fire, which inspired the televised production of the Game of Thrones.
