Lynette Reini-Grandell is also the author of Approaching the Gate (Holy Cow! Press, 2014), which won the Northeastern Minnesota Book Award for Poetry. Her work has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and is part of a permanent art installation at the Carlton Arms Hotel in Manhattan. She has received grants from the Finlandia Foundation and the Minnesota State Arts Board and holds an MA and PhD in literature from the University of Minnesota. A two-time president of the Minnesota Council of Teachers of English, she teaches at Normandale Community College. She lives in Minneapolis, where she reads regularly with the Bosso Poetry Company, performs with the jazz/poetry collective Sonoglyph, and is married to the transgender performance artist/musician, Venus de Mars.
