Her co-worker sets off a chain of events ending up with Millie responsible for a newly birthed baby girl and traveling back North. Temporarily staying at a boarding house in North Georgia, she meets a man with news of Jimbo's passing and his bequeathing her a mountain farm in Northwestern North Carolina. That's when the rest of the story begins.
