The hunters of northern Santa Fe, Argentina, have lived for generations taking advantage of the natural resources that the Paranaense rainforest provides. This research is a sample of the immense baggage of knowledge that they have been accumulating in their culture for years. It focuses on the relationship that the islanders have with the local fauna, how they hunt it, what they use it for and how much they know about each species. All this, seen from an ethnobiological approach. We publish this data in the hope that in the future the opinion and wisdom of local people about their environment will be taken into account and applied to biodiversity conservation plans. Because at the end of the day, if we still have nature and fauna to protect, it is because there were local people who have known how to manage and conserve it since before.
