Are you brave enough to walk into the parlour and discover what happens when a ghost interrupts you whilst digging the grave of the man you just murdered? This haunting collection of twisting tales of all things supernatural will tangle you in the stench of sage, the taste of sulphur on the wind, and the whisper of a half-heard incantation. Accompanied by a host of diabolical characters lose yourself in a web of words to discover why you must never steal from a witch, how to murder a ghost and when saving a Siren is not a good idea. And, how would you respond if the witches who rescued you from a stake demand to know what magical powers you possess when you know you don't have any? These are among the many dilemmas faced in the tantalising collection of short stories you hold in your hand. In every tale, there is a touch of the ethereal and unknown that lies just beyond our sight line. Delve just a little deeper and you will be entertained, amused and maybe even a little scared as you tread lightly over the threshold. But keep your eyes open your nightmares may not be as far away as you think. Prizewinning short story writer Denarii Peters is the author of this first collection of short stories. If you want to find out more you can meet her online at substack.com/@denariipeters.Hinweis: Dieser Artikel kann nur an eine deutsche Lieferadresse ausgeliefert werden.
Denarii Peters is lost among the fens and the wolds of East Anglia and Lincolnshire. It's taken her a long time to get there. If needed she can be found gazing into the distance, over her computer keyboard, with a cup of coffee in one hand.In a previous life she did many things; worked in several different offices: a communications company, a steel distributor, a maker of artificial limbs and she logged colours for a dyeing company. Later she became a primary school teacher and had two children of her own. She lived in many northern places: from Lancaster to Bradford then, with her husband, spent five years travelling all over Western Europe towing a caravan. She has always told stories: to her friends, to the children she taught and then, after a lot of encouragement, she began to write them down. Now she can't stop. Fortunately and rather to her surprise, over the last two years she has found success in more than fifty short story and flash fiction competitions both in Britain and abroad. Nothing makes her happier than knowing someone, somewhere is enjoying her scribblings.
