Tad Williams, 1957 in Kalifornien geboren, studierte in Berkeley und arbeitete anschließend in vielen verschiedenen Jobs - als Sänger, Schuhverkäufer, Zeitungsjunge, Radiomoderator, am Theater, beim Fernsehen, als Lehrer, in einer Computerfirma. Er schreibt neben Fantasy-Bestsellern Comics, Drehbücher und Hörspiele.

Deborah Beale, geboren 1958, verheiratet mit Tad Williams, war Lektorin für Fantasybücher in London, bevor sie ihre eigene Karriere als Autorin begann.
