In sum, it is an ode to poetry, and features versions of various forms including the elfchen; golden shovel; rhupunt; sestina; sonnet; than-bauk and zejel. "Willing Words is a lyrical tour-de-force: an ingenious approach to redefining the trials and triumphs of being a poet. Sharron's immaculately crafted rhyme combines great insight, elegant imagery, and masterly use of poetic form and structure". Sarah Drury "Willing Words has a gentle humour, at times funny, at times resonant of Pam Ayres. It is also an exposition of what can be conveyed through rhyme and a full use of poetic form."
