Autorenporträt
Shawn Rogers was born in Des Moines, IA. He currently lives in Atlanta, GA and always had a strong writing background. From storytelling, personal poems, and journaling, he wanted to finally take that next step and get something professionally published. A college graduate from the University of Iowa and employee within the corporate world, he has experienced the ups and downs of what comes with being someone approaching their 30th birthday. The feeling of not being as accomplished as he wished he would be years and years ago, but with maturity, realizing he is just getting started. We look at reaching 30 years of age, as being "old" when we're in our mid to late teens and early 20s, so we apply unnecessary pressure on ourselves feeling we need to have this, or already accomplished that to classify ourselves successful. That is far from the case. Someone in my shoes, living everyday life, seeing our peers reach a certain level of success either before, or after us, is how we measure our own success. It takes time and maturity to realize we are only in com-petition with ourselves. We are in a race with no one. As long as we're progressing and maximizing each day to the best of our abilities, setting goals and achieving them, we are on the road to success. Still trying to figure out his mission and passion in life, writing is an outlet of expression. Setting goals and continuing to write out his daily thoughts, his main pursuit is finding what really drives him. What does he see himself doing the next 5-10 years? Next 15-20? This is the best part of not being in a rush, taking things as they come. It's all a part of his journey. The best is yet to come.
