Women's position, their status, the scope of their liberation and the barriers that promote their growth as new women are the concepts that run through her works along with Parsi ethos, Indian Politics, Partition and cultural shock. This book discusses all the aspects of women's suffering on different grounds. Sidhwa's depiction of the situations, problems and struggles of women in familial and societal frameworks are discussed.
