Autorenporträt
Meta Commerse is a word medicine woman, teaching, writing, healing, and performing her generative words. Born into a family of artists where writing of all kinds took place. Meta earned her MFA in Creative Writing at Goddard College. Blues -Doula (2019) is her second poetry collection, the first, -Rainsongs: Poems of a Woman's Life (2012). In addition, she's the author of The Mending Time (2014), her story medicine novel. She is the founder of Story Medicine Worldwide, based in Western North Carolina, where she lives, teaches courses, and designs healing excursions with this Indigenous modality. She's the mother of three adult children and grandmother to three young adult grandsons residing in Georgia.
