Women make up half of the world's population but they are mostly deprived of equal rights in patriarchal societies. Patriarchy occurs in developed countries as well as developing and traditional societies. As a result of imbalanced power relation in a patriarchal society, women do not have access to public resources, so they have no choice but to be subordinate to men. This book consists of five chapters about women, their vulnerability and their problems and situations in male-dominant cultures and patriarchal communities. The author emphasizes that women need men's support to improve their wellbeing and increase their satisfaction in life, so those men who believe that their societies may not develop without women's participation in public affairs should support them to fight for their rights and access to public domain. Patriarchy will destroy not only women's but also men's wellbeing.
