This work is created to show the relationship that exists between women in higher education and their advancement in the work place. Special emphasis is placed on African-American women in higher education. However, based on an analysis of selected studies on this topic, there are problems regardless of disparate cultural values. However, in the Commonwealth of Virginia, it is clear that much work is needed for these women to further mold and stabilize their families and communities for greater benefits for the entire American and global societies.
