She has published numerous articles in various criminal justice and other social science journals. Catherine D. Marcum is an associate professor of criminal justice at Appalachian State University, Boone, North Carolina. Her areas of research are cybercrime, correctional issues, and sexual victimization. She has published numerous articles in various criminal justice and other social science journals, and has authored and edited multiple scholastic books.
