This book contains a collection of 25 interviews with women founders of groundbreaking human rights organizations and key organizers of history making protest movements. This work is both a celebration of these women and their work but also meant to inform and instruct as a Call to Action. These discussions outline the women's lives, the history of their organizations and their achievements and a recalling of these important movements from the frontlines, acting as a guidebook to civil disobedience and nonviolent direct action. This book focuses on a diverse number of subjects on how to empower ourselves and those around us through knowledge and action, to create an equal and just society on personal, community and legislative levels. A portion of the author's proceeds from this book will be donated to the organizations within this book. Extensive interviews included in this book with the women founders and activists includes: ACT UP, Women's March, Black Panther Party, Standing Rock, Occupy Wall Street, Ferguson, Code Pink, Black Lives Matter, Innocence Project, Femen, ERA Coalition, Center for Reproductive Rights, Women's Liberation Movement, Amnesty International, ACLU, National Network for Immigrant and Refugee Rights, Voice Project, National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Native American Rights Fund, People's Law Office, Earthjustice, PETA, Electronic Frontier Foundation, Ruckus Society and many more!
