Bincy P. Abraham, MD, MS earned her medical degree from University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, Texas, where she continued with residency training in internal medicine and fellowship in gastroenterology. During fellowship, she earned her degree in Master of Clinical Investigation and received specialized training in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) through the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation in Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. She is currently the Distinguished Professor and Director of the Fondren Inflammatory Bowel Disease Program at the Underwood Digestive Diseases Center of Houston Methodist Hospital. She is also the Program Director for the Gastroenterology Fellowship program. Her particular interest in IBD includes the transition of adolescent patients with IBD from pediatric to adult care as well as women's issues and pregnancy in IBD. She has chaired the Southern Regional chapter of the CCFA Medical Advisory Committee, has served as president of the Texas Gulf Coast Gastroenterology Society, and is involved in national committees for and is a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology, and American Gastroenterology Association, and Crohn's and Colitis Foundation. Sunanda V. Kane, MD, MSPH received her MD from Rush Medical College in Chicago and did her residency there as well. Her Fellowship was at the University of Chicago where after training she joined the faculty until 2007, when she moved to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Kane also holds a Master in Public Health from the University of Illinois Chicago; her Master's thesis was on the relationship between oral contraceptives and the development of IBD. Her career has been spent studying and championing gender related issues in IBD in the areas of menstrual related issues, fertility, pregnancy, and menopause. She has edited several textbooks within both gastroenterology and IBD specifically. She has written a book for patients on the management of IBD which is now in its second and soon third edition. Along with patient care, Dr. Kane continues to engage in teaching activities, research and serves as the Chair of Quality for her Division. She has been active as well in national societies and is Past President of the American College of Gastroenterology. Kerri L. Glassner, DO earned her medical degree from Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Parker, Colorado. She completed her residency in internal medicine and fellowship in gastroenterology at Houston Methodist Hospital, Houston, Texas. During fellowship, she received specialized training in IBD through the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. She is currently an assistant professor of clinical medicine at the Fondren Inflammatory Bowel Disease Program at the Underwood Digestive Diseases Center of Houston Methodist Hospital. Her specific interests include pregnancy in IBD and liver disease in IBD. She is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterology Association, and Crohn's and Colitis Foundation.
