Arta Jalili Idrissi is Lecturer in Criminology at Staffordshire University, UK. Her research interests include the sociology of imprisonment and women offenders. The wider context of Arta's work considers the transition process from socialism to a market economy, and how this has shaped the development of penal regimes in Eastern Europe.
