This modest dissertation has been developed in order to obtain the master's degree. It is about the latest novel of Maissa Bey entitled: Hizya. This work tells the story of a young girl of 23 years who bears the hyponym of the legend Hizya. The heroine of the novel deeply influenced by the legend and poetry, wants to live an adventure similar to that of the legendary Hizya, but faced with a sclerotic society, she could not achieve her quest. As the work is rich in themes, we tried to treat them based on the theories of thematic approach and that of characters.
