The use of work projects at school is essential, but understanding their use involves recognising the weaknesses of the traditional disciplinary curriculum and valuing the interdisciplinary curricular perspective. With this in mind, it is necessary to trace the active methods developed to produce knowledge at school, with an emphasis on the globalising approach to knowledge. This publication investigates the use of work projects in a public school in São Luis/MA, highlighting the advances and limitations in teaching practice.
