Many initiatives have been made by the government to improve the counselling services and counselors' professionalism such as upgrading guidance teachers and counselors for further studies as well as workshops and seminars in this field.In Brunei Darussalam"from 2006 continuous effort of upgrading teachers had been carried out via training in Certificate or Diploma in Counselling in order to extend the services to 85 primary schools to help students cope with learning, social and and discipline.
