About 43 per cent of India's geographical area is used for agricultural activity. Women workers play an important role in agriculture sector. More than 60 per cent of the workers in agriculture sector are women. These working women in agriculture are exploited by various reasons. The most important reason is that these women workers are not aware about their strength and opportunities. The working conditions and living style of the women worker in agriculture sector is very pathetic. Therefore, the study is planned to analyse the working and living conditions of women workers in agriculture sector.

Dr. M. Selvakumar is presently working as Assistant Professor of Commerce in Ayya Nadar Janaki Ammal College, Sivakasi, India. He is the author of more than seventy five research articles and one book. He has completed a research project funded by University Grants Commission, India and also guided scholars for Ph.D Degree.
