Er hat einen Master-Abschluss in Verwaltung von der Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais - PUCMINAS, eine Spezialisierung in strategischem Management von der UFMG und eine Spezialisierung in Finanzen vom Machado Sobrinho College. Er ist seit etwa zwanzig Jahren Universitätsprofessor.
