This research is aimed at identifying the characteristics and consequences of workplace harassment in a public entity, which can be defined as "one that equates them to state organizations, establishing a scope of study focused on the components of the organization of the State and based in large part by the doctrines of administrative law". (Álvarez Collazos, A. (2008) p. 11), that is to say, that they are public organisms, which are in charge of the performance of rendering activities, the management of services or the production of goods of public interest susceptible of consideration.In order to analyze this problem, it is necessary to know the Colombian regulations regarding workplace harassment, the elements and characteristics of both workplace harassment and public organizations, as well as the tools and means of protection provided by law for victims of workplace harassment.The phenomenon of workplace harassment affects the mental health of employees and it is consideredimportant to study both the Colombian regulations and the consequences of workplace harassment in institutions or entities.
