In today's competitive and rapidly evolving business landscape, driven by globalization and digitalization, organizations are becoming more customer-centric by offering innovative and value-added products. Workplace innovation is crucial in helping organizations navigate the volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA) environment. However, the factors that enhance workplace innovation are not fully established, and further research is needed, particularly in specific industries and countries. This study aimed to evaluate the role of facilitation and psychological safety in fostering workplace innovation within IT organizations, using shared understanding as a mediating factor. A descriptive research design was employed, and data was collected from 431 innovation practitioners in IT/ITES organizations through a questionnaire. Statistical analysis, including Structural Equation Modelling (SEM), revealed that workplace innovation is positively influenced by facilitation, psychological safety, and shared understanding, with shared understanding playing a key mediating role in the relationship between these enablers and workplace innovation.
