World-wide there are 851 properties inscribed on the World Heritage List. Out of these 851 properties, 660 are cultural, 166 natural and there are 25 mixes World Heritage Sites. In 1972 an international agreement adopted by the General Conference of the UNESCO was set up to found a Convention concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage. The Dutch gave a recognition to this agreement in 1992. Since then, the country has six World Heritage Sites. There are a lot of stakeholders involved in the management of the World Heritage Sites. Cooperation is important for knowledge of each other and what each can mean to each another, the World Heritage Sites can learn from each other. With good cooperation amongst the stakeholders more efficiency can be given to funding, marketing, promotion and the implementation of rules and regulations. In this way more time and money can be saved and used for the preservation of the World Heritage Sites. The possible benefits of cooperation amongst the World Heritage Sites in the Netherlands and its stakeholders can be important for the future preservation.
