The following transcription is from the private diary of Private Nicke that he kept from the time he left basic training until his discharge. It was originally an address book that he kept in his breast pocket. The book is 3" x 5" and the notations are all in pencil. The text is transcribed in its original spelling and some punctuation has been added to add clarity. Some footnotes have been added to aid in definitions, locations and fellow soldiers.
