Yank Shi, né en Chine en 1941, a travaillé comme professeur d'anglais dans un collège de Yantai pendant 14 ans, a obtenu une maîtrise en linguistique à l'Université Fudan de Shanghai en 1982, a travaillé comme professeur d'anglais à l'Institut des langues étrangères de Dalian pendant 4 ans. ans, est venu aux États-Unis en 1986, a obtenu 2 maîtrises en linguistique et en beaux-arts à l'Université du Colorado à Boulder, a dirigé une entreprise liée aux semi-conducteurs, a maintenant pris sa retraite et a vécu à Broomfield, Colorado, a publié un roman "World's End and the Sea Angle" en 2020 (éditions anglaise et chinoise).
