Long absent from the literary scene, women's voices will rise. Among them, Calixthe Beyala, Mariama Bâ and Régina Yaou. Contrary to the male writings which show a perfect image of the African woman, these writers denounce on the contrary the abuses made to women and put the patriarchal society in the dock. Today, it can be said that there is a feminist writing that deals with the question of the African woman in its most intimate aspects by putting in the foreground female characters who fight without respite against all the oppressions of which they are victims.
