Poetrinese is a term that I invented to describe my style of writing. It is a language of poetry that allows the use of short story or tale to form a poem with rhyming content. Poetrinese is a term that I invented to describe my style of writing. It is a language of poetry that allows the use of short story or tale to form a poem with rhyming content. These poems are written without the rules and restrictions that some have placed upon such writings. It is a fun type of poetry that allows the author complete freedom of both design and content without the worry of format correctness. It is hoped that you will find encouragement from such works as "A Can" or "Alive and Happy" or one of the many found in these 14 sections of poems. My first objective is to give praise to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and to thank Him for His sacrifice of love. I am happy to do so by providing nearly one-fourth of the poems in this book as of a spiritual nature. My wish is that as you read these praise poems, you will be motivated to seek a personal relationship with Him. He is an "Awesome God" and the "Creator" who still loves, protects and blesses us even today. Some of these poems are written to thank and pay tribute to the many Americans who have served and are serving this country in the Armed Forces of the United States and especially to those who sacrificed their all. I hope some of these patriotic lines will remind you to "Thank a Vet" and to give encouragement and a "Memorial Day Salute" to our veterans. You may wish to take warning about the "Destruction of America" and pray that this country will turn back to God. Let us "Celebrate America" in thankfulness. Other poems seek to encourage and inspire or to amuse you to the point that, even on a bad day, you might allow a slight smile to sneak out and bring a bit of happiness to your day. I have written about joys in nature, with "Pretty Rainbow" and "The Waterfall," with "Baseball "as a fun sport and have included some activities from the 1950 era. I've added silly poems about "Candy" and "Mommy's Pies" and about persons, places, things, the

This book is the work of a person who has seen much change in life from the blackboard and paddles to I-Pads and E-Books and poor discipline in our schools and nation. I was raised to respect others and especially our elders, but find these elements rapidly disappearing in our current culture. Thomas Edison warned about too many inventions taking away our relationships with other people and with all the electronics, that is true. I was raised as a poor boy on a small farm in western Arkansas. With help from my Lord, I was able to attend and graduate from Arkansas Tech University. I was proud to have served my duty in the military of the United States. I taught and coached school for 35 years. After I retired, I traveled some and enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing golf. Bad health brought an end to many of my physical activities. Then God stepped in once again and replaced what I had lost with writing. He gave me the ability to see or hear something and to turn that into a poem. I am glad to be able to share this God-given talent with others in a positive and spiritual way. I make my home and do my writing in Northwest Arkansas.
