Heike Niedrig, PhD, studied African Languages in South Africa as well as Literature, Sociology and Education in Hamburg, Germany. Her present educational research at the University of Hamburg deals with transnational educational careers of young African migrants from a postcolonial theory perspective. Christian Ydesen, PhD, studied History and Philosophy in Aalborg, Denmark, and was a PhD fellow at the Danish School of Education in Copenhagen (Denmark), and at the Centre for Educational Sociology in Edinburgh (UK). His research focuses on the history of intercultural education and on educational testing.
