Autorenporträt

Art Kelly was born into a family of teachers in Lawrence, Kansas. He teaches English at the John C. Fremont Middle School in Las Vegas. He founded the highly successful Fremont Family Writing Project in 2001. A teacher consultant for the National Writing Project, Art has presented widely in recent years on his work with Family Scribe Groups. In Las Vegas, his teaching and family literacy efforts have earned him a nomination for Clark County School District Teacher of the Year, Best Teaching Practice in the East Region of Clark County School District, a Neighborhood Impact Award from the Neighborhood Congress of Las Vegas, and Teacher of the Month recognition for Las Vegas. The USA Today Education website recognized Art's Family Writing Project website, www.FamilyWritingProjects.com, as an "Educator's Best Bet" site. When not in the classroom, Art enjoys hiking in the desert and mountains surrounding Las Vegas. He teaches a seminar on Family Scribe Groups at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and is available as a consultant for workshops on Family Scribe Groups at schools and other sites.
