Its last assignment was with Sixth Air Force, based at Albrook Field, Canal Zone. It was inactivated on 25 August 1946.The 1st Special Operations Wing (1st SOW) at Hurlburt Field, Florida is one of two United States Air Force active duty Special Operations wings and falls under the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC). The 32d Air Operations Group is an inactive unit of the United States Air Force. It was last assigned to the USAFE Theater Air and Space-operations Center, Kapaun Air Station, Germany. It was inactivated on 1 December 2006 and replaced by the Third Air Force 603rd Air Operation Center. The 1st Special Operations Wing is a successor organization of the 16th Pursuit Group, one of the 15 original combat air groups formed by the Army before World War II.
