The First Lok Sabha was constituted on 17 April 1952 after India''s first general election. The 1st Lok Sabha lasted its full tenure of five years and was dissolved on 4 April 1957. The Goud are one of the largest castes in Andhra Pradesh comprising more than 17% of its population. Gouds are involved in soma and Ayurvedic medicine developers in ancient days who are classified as Somavansh Kshatriyas. At present, they are involved in Palm wine/Toddy tapping, farming and modern professions.
