In the year 2004 he won with more than 1,10,000 majority against MV Mysoora Reddy. In the 2009 General Elections, he made way for his nephew and son of Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to contest in the elections. He is elected as an MLC to Andhra Pradesh legistlative in council in september 2009.
