Ya mur was raised in listening to classical music, Turkish folk music and various other genres. He started playing the piano at the age of ten at Hacettepe University State Conservatory, then he studied violin at Bilkent University Stage Arts Faculty. Finally he realized the best musical instrument for him would be a guitar, so he applied to Ankara Anatolian Arts High School and the guitar became his major instrument. Later he studied music at Gazi University.
