High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Yalova is a city located in northwestern Turkey, on the eastern coast of the Sea of Marmara. Three metropolitan cities of Turkey (Istanbul, Kocaeli, Bursa) are neighbours of Yalova. So that, Yalova is a potential bridge between most industrialized, educated and populated cities (Istanbul, Bursa, Kocaeli). According to United Nations Human Development Report, Yalova is the second developed city in Turkey and has social, educational and economical advantages. This makes the university more important as an institution linking metropolitan cities of Turkey. To turn these advantages into opportunities, Yalova University (YAU) has been founded under the Law no 5765 on May 22, 2008 and Prof. Dr. M. Niyazi Eruslu has been appointed as the first rector. The Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and Vocational School of Higher Education of Yalova that had already been established and functioning as a constituent of Uludag University became a part of the recently founded university following the enactment of the law.
