He finished the season with a total of nine goals and nine assists. Kermorgant was a free agent having left Stade Reims at the end of the 2008-09 season. He claimed he was in talks with Championship team Leicester City in July 2009 over a transfer to the club. He was later expected to start a trial with Leicester. Please with Kermorgant's initial display, manager Nigel Pearson gave him a second trial. Pearson confirmed the clubwere in talks over signing Kermorgant on 20 August 2009.
