As of the United States 2000 Census, the CDP population was 9,208. As of the census of 2000, there were 9,208 people, 3,438 households, and 2,619 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 1,033.5/km² (2,673.7/mi²). There were 3,528 housing units at an average density of 396.0/km² (1,024.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 93.09% White, 3.02% African American, 0.08% Native American, 2.00% Asian, 0.08% Pacific Islander, 0.80% from other races, and 0.93% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.01% of the population. There were 3,438 households out of which 33.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.6% were married couples living together, 9.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 23.8% were non-families. 19.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.68 and the average family size was 3.09.
