Diallo's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from the Université de Montréal and training in a variety of African instruments: Minianka tam-tam (talking drum), Senufo balafon (xylophone), Mandingo tama, or talking drum, and the Afro-Cuban congas.
