High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Yayasan Kemanusiaan Ibu Pertiwi (YKIP) which translates as the Humanitarian Foundation for Mother Earth is an Indonesia Non Profit Organisation which is dedicated to helping the needy in Bali through health and education programs. The charity was founded in the wake of the 2002 Bali bombings which left 255 dead and 446 injured. YKIP was founded on 12 October 2002 as a response to the Bali Bombings the initial organisational name was the Bali Recovery Group which spent the first six months after the bombing providing support to the various NGOs who came in to help with the relief operations. The period between 2003 and 2003 saw YKIP focusing exclusively on helping the Bali Bomb Victims. After the victim's basic necessities have been fulfilled, YKIP started to focus on health and education issues, and conducted projects that concentrated more on increasing the welfare of people who were less fortunate in Bali. All of these efforts were dedicated as a tribute for the 255 lives lost and 446 who were injured in the blast.
